OPENING CEREMONY OF THE WORLD MILITARY SPORT CLIMBING CHAMPIONSHIP IN KOPER

The opening ceremony at the Taverna in Koper on Tuesday, 20 June, marked the official start of the International Military Sports Council's (Conseil International du Sport Militaire / CISM) World Military Sport Climbing Championship, organised by the Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF). The participants were addressed by Slovenian Minister of Defence, Marjan Šarec. Slovenia is represented at the competition by Slovenian sport climbers, members of the SAF Sports Unit.

Between 19 and 24 June, over 100 participants from 12 countries will compete in all three sport climbing disciplines, namely lead, speed and boulder, in both male and female categories. Slovenian team will be represented by the best Slovenian sport climbers, members of the SAF Sports Unit: Janja Garnbret, Mia Krampl, Vita Lukan, Katja Debevec, Mina Markovič, Luka Potočar, Anže Peharc and, finally, Igor Primc from the 15th Wing.
