WHO LEADS THE SLOVENIAN ARMED FORCES

The Commander-in-Chief of the Slovenian Armed Forces is the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, Ph.D.

 

Military command and control in the Slovenian Armed Forces is the responsibility of the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Robert Glavaš, and other commanders of subordinate commands and units. Military command is based on the principles of unity of command, subordination and obedience to orders. Each Slovenian Armed Forces member must always be informed of who is their superior and who is their subordinate. Organization and command in the Slovenian Armed Forces are hierarchical. The Chief of the General Staff is appointed without a public tender by the government at the proposal of the Minister of Defence.

Each Slovenian Armed Forces member must always be informed of who is their superior and who is their subordinate. The public should also be informed about who leads and manages the Slovenian Armed Forces. For this reason, we hereby present the key military leaders at the strategic and operational levels.
