The SAF Military Doctrine defines military infrastructure as: training and firing ranges, barracks, storage facilities, airfields, sea ports, telecommunication facilities, radar facilities, radar positions, command posts, accommodation facilities, workshops, and other facilities and environments managed by the Ministry of Defence or designated in accordance with the law by the Minister as being of key importance for defence.
Military infrastructure is one of the six mutually related and interdependent functional areas of military logistics, alongside supplies, movement and transport, maintenance, medical support and finances. For the development of the Slovenian Armed Forces, it is essential that the infrastructure is developed in line with the development of the Slovenian Armed Forces, which is essential for the provision of conditions for education, training, drills, the provision of accommodation facilities, and the provision of logistical support to both active and reserve component members.
