The school trains individuals and units for operations in a mountainous environment and other difficult-to-pass terrains.

Tasks
Carry out tactical mountain warfare training and drills for individuals and units.
Develop mountain warfare doctrine on the basis of experience, lessons learned and research.
Prepare and carry out courses and trainings.
Cooperate with the International Association of Military Mountain Schools as well as national and international educational institutions.
Carry out publication activities.
Participate in the protection, rescue and relief system.
Organise and carry out alpine expeditions.
Programmes
Mountain School training programmes are intended for SAF individuals and units as well as for members of armed forces from partner and allied countries.
