Partnership for Peace Language Training Centre

The Partnership for Peace Language Training Centre (PfP LTC) is responsible for the implementation of language courses that meet the requirements of the Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF). PfP LTC is also responsible for the language training that enhances NATO's interoperability objectives and international peace initiatives.

 

The PfP LTC represents the Slovenian Armed Forces' contribution to language training within NATO and the Partnership for Peace Project.

MISION AND MAIN TASK

To provide language training and testing for the SAF and   Ministry of Defence (MoD) and members of foreign armed forces. This is achieved  through the transparency and openness of its courses,  and providing opportunities  for the SAF to interoperate with PfP, Mediterranean Dialogue and NATO countries.

 

Main tasks are the development, organization and implementation of:

  • Language Training
  • Teacher Training
  • Specialized Language Courses
  • STANAG 6001 Language Exams

HISTORY

The PfP LTC acquired its international status as a Partnership Language Training Centre in 2000 and was officially opened in November 2001. Its primary objective is the the education and training of members of NATO, PfP and Mediterranean Dialogue Countries.

Considering the language focus of the Centre, in 2004 the SAF integrated the PfP LTC with the  Doctrine, Development, Education and Training Centre (DDETC) and implemented a framework for a School of Foreign Languages (SFL).

 

As a contribution to the advancement of cooperation in the area of training within the PfP, the LTC became the first institution of the Slovenian Armed Forces to be established within the international environment.

LOCATION:

The PfP LTC is located in the small village of Ajševica, 3 km from the town of Nova Gorica. The area is quiet, forested and situated on the border with Italy.
