The Flight School is attached to the Air Defence and Aviation Brigade. It provides training for pilot candidates of the Slovenian Armed Forces at the Cerklje ob Krki Military Airport.

Tasks

• Provide pilots of the Slovenian Armed Forces with basic and advanced flight training for aircraft and helicopters.
• Provide theoretical flight training up to the level required to obtain an Air Traffic Pilot License for aircraft and helicopters.
• Provide flight instructors with training in aircraft and helicopters.
• Provide professional training for aviation technicians and engineers.
• Provide basic combat training for aircraft pilots.
• Provide tactical training for aircraft and helicopter pilots.
• Perform joint training of various branches of the Slovenian Armed Forces, using the air force.
• Provide training for the Airline Traffic Pilot License by Joint Aviation Authorities - JAA ATPL.
• Supply and maintain the Aviation Unit.
• Organise and provide basic and advanced parachute training for members of Slovenian Armed Forces units.
• Represent the Slovenian Armed Forces in military (CISM) and civilian parachuting competitions in Slovenia and abroad and participate in various events.
• Maintain aircraft and helicopters at maintenance level I; perform minor repairs and participate in the maintenance of aircraft and helicopters at maintenance level II.
