The Command is in charge of all units attached to the Air Defence and Aviation Brigade and it is responsible for their readiness and training.

• Plan, organise, direct and control the operation of subordinated units and test their skills.
• Conduct control and protection of the air space of the Republic of Slovenia.
• Provide combat, combat support and combat service support forces.
• Participate in multinational operations and missions.
• Participate in the protection, rescue and relief system.
• Participate in civil-military cooperation.
• Provide liaison officers in the National Air Operations Centre.
