The Battalion is attached to the 1st Brigade and is the core operational unit of the Slovenian Armed Forces in crisis response operations.

Constituent units:

• Command
• HQ Logistics Company
• Three Motorised companies
• Mortar Company

Tasks:

• Form a light battalion battle group.
• Provide training for members of the battalion, as well as manage and conduct preparations prior to deployment to multinational operations and missions.
• Participate in multinational operations and missions.
• Participate in the protection, rescue and relief system.
