Slovenian Armed Forces proud of themselves for 20 years

Slovenian Armed Forces proud of themselves for 20 years

For 20 years, members of the Slovenian Armed Forces have been working and endeavouring for the preservation and development of traditional Slovenian values.

To celebrate our common achievements of the past 20 years the Slovenian Armed Forces have prepared a number of events to present the path we have trodden, our current situation and our future orientation. We also invite all who to-date may not have had a chance to meet us and would like to learn more about the Slovenian Armed Forces to attend our events.

> Invitation to festivities

The beginnings of the Slovenian Armed Forces date back to May 1991 when an experimental military service of the first generation of the Slovenian military in the modern Slovenian history began at the 710th Pekre Training Centre and at the 510th Training Centre at Ig. This year, the Slovenian Armed Forces celebrate the 20th anniversary of their operation in the independent Slovenia. In 20 years, they have evolved into a modern, highly competent and credible institution which enjoys high reputation at home and abroad and manages to effectively work alongside the forces with longer traditions. On their path, they have encountered a number of turning points, which are in more detail described in the following texts:
