Slovenian ISAF contingent monitored the rotation of the Afghan battalion
On 5 December, the 16th Slovenian ISAF Contingent monitored the rotation of the Afghan battalion mentored by Slovenian troops in the military base, village of Durayee. Slovenian troops now continue to perform mentorship tasks in the field.
During the past week, company mentors and members of the Protection Platoon of the Slovenian Contingent carried out the necessary preparations for the task and movement to the base in the village of Durayee, south-east of the military base in Bala Boluk, and then continued with the mentorship of the 4th Company of the Afghan Battalion.
Slovenian instructors also monitored the rotation of the Afghan battalion units in the field, since the battalion’s area of operations stretches alongside the motorway for over three hundred kilometres, i.e. from Shindad to Bakhwa. The battalion is tasked with monitoring the situation within the area of responsibility and protecting and providing uninterrupted movement of military and civilian convoys on the motorway.
