Slovenian Contingent again responsible for the protection of Camp Film City and KFOR Command
As of July, the Kilo Company of the 25th Slovenian KFOR Contingent composed of members of the 74th Motorised Battalion, cooperates with members of an Austrian company in the protection of Camp Film City in Priština, Kosovo. The camp hosts KFOR Command HQ which employs some members of the Slovenian Contingent performing tasks as part of the National Support Element and the National Intelligence Cell.
A Slovenian motorised Platoon and two platoons of the Austrian company were assigned with the protection of the camp. This is the first example of such cooperation in the protection of KFOR Command HQ. At the same time, it is a good example of good international cooperation among members of foreign armed forces and follows the MNBG-W’s (Multinational Battle Group – West) motto “TOGETHER AS ONE”.
Servicemembers perform four different types of protection tasks. They identify and check the persons and vehicles coming into the base; they follow control cameras, and check and identify persons entering KFOR Command building. In addition, they also perform rapid reaction and patrol tasks.
The scope and nature of work demand servicemembers to be well acquainted with protection procedures, while those at the Command gate also have to be familiar with protocol tasks due to a number of distinguished guests coming to the Command every day.
