Members of the 24th Slovenian KFOR Contingent again attended the international Dancon March
On Sunday, 8 January, members of the 24th Slovenian KFOR Contingent attended the international Dancon March organised by the Danish Contingent in the vicinity of Novo Selo, Kosovo. The traditional 25-km long march, starting and ending in the “Marechal de Lattre de Tassigny” base, included participants from the countries engaged in KFOR and EULEX international forces. The honour of absolute winners was attributed to the fastest Slovenians Lance Corporal Uroš Zalar and Private Miha Kosec. Other members of the Slovenian Contingent completed the demanding route in a good five hours or less.
The aim of the traditional Dancon March is to promote mutual cooperation as well as to test personal abilities and the awareness that one can succeed. This year’s route crossed the demanding terrain and required exceptional fitness, since each participant had to carry at least ten kilograms of equipment. The most daring ones walked the route carrying their personal and collective weapons as well. Upon successfully completing the march, the participants received medals and participation certificates.
