Members of the 21st Slovenian Contingent in Kosovo successfully complete KFOR exercise with their area of operations
On Thursday, 12 August, a two-day KFOR exercise "Random Exercise" concluded. The exercise was carried out within the area of responsibility of the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG –W) where a majority of the Slovenian Contingent in Kosovo operates. The high-intensity exercise in the MNBG-W was led by Deputy Commander, MNBG-W, and Commander of the 21st Slovenian KFOR Contingent, Lt Col Ernest Anželj. The MNBG-W staff coordinated MNBG-W commands and units which had to react promptly and appropriately to random incidents and events within the MNBG-W area of responsibility. The exercise included members of the Slovenian Contingent who work at the MNBG-W Command and the company India, members of Italian, Hungarian and Romanian contingents and an attached German company of the Multinational Battle Group – South. The work of the units and the MNBG-W was assessed by the assessment group of KFOR Command in Priština.
The exercise was directly controlled by KFOR Commander, Lieutenant General Markus Bentler, and his deputy, Major General Antonio Satta. They were very pleased with the demonstration of high professional competency, as well as cooperation and coordination of the capabilities of MNBG-W members intended for a successful management of various incidents within the area of responsibility.
