Members of the 16th SAF Contingent OMLT take part in a humanitarian operation
On Thursday, 17 November, members of the 16th Slovenian Armed Forces Contingent performing mentorship tasks in an Afghan battalion in the international operation ISAF in Afghanistan took part in a humanitarian operation of providing medical care and distribution of clothes, toys and school accessories to the local population.
Together with Italian and Afghan troops, they provided for over twenty patients with various medical problems in the village of Tudanaak near the FOB Lembach base. Some hundred and fifty villagers, mainly children, attended the distribution of humanitarian aid. Within this campaign, the Slovenian Contingent distributed T-shirts and school accessories donated by Slovenian insurance company Zavarovalnica Triglav, thus contributing significantly to the development of closer relationships with the civilian population .
