Members of SVNCON 27 in Bosnia-Herzegovina participate in the rescue of a Slovenian paraglider and donate blood
On Saturday, 29 October 2011, a Slovenian paraglider Simon Vogrinec received serious injuries while landing in a minefield on top of the Košuta Mountain at Jahorina. With quick and effective activity coordination in the management of the rescue mission, Slovenian EUFOR members managed to prevent even worse injuries.
On 7 November, SVNCON 27 members donated blood at the Clinical Centre of Sarajevo. This was their way of showing moral support to the injured Slovenian paraglider and expressing their wish for his speedy recovery. Contingent members also thanked blood donators of Bosnia and Herzegovina for donating blood which kept him alive during crucial moments.
»Although Simon is practically among us, this is unfortunately the most we can do for him at this moment,” Slovenian servicemembers said modestly.
