Commander of the 25th Slovenian KFOR Contingent receives Austrian Military Merit Medal
On Saturday, 8 September, during his visit to Austrian troops in Kosovo, Commander of the Austrian Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Günter Höfler awarded Commander of the 25th Slovenian KFOR Contingent, Lieutenant Colonel Gregor Ribnikar with a medal of Austrian Armed Forces.
The Austrian Military Merit Medal symbolises the recognition of and respect for members of foreign armed forces and is presented to them for exceptional results achieved in cooperation with the Austrian Armed Forces in national and international environments.
Upon the conferral, Lieutenant General Höfler specifically stressed that this was the first time that a medal of such level had been presented to a member of foreign armed forces in international operations, where Austrian troops were involved. The conferral of the medal is a sign of respect for all members of the Slovenian KFOR Contingent.
