Slovenian military divers take part in the exercise Aegean Seal
Between 3 and 15 November, members of the Special Forces Underwater Operation Detachment of the 430th Naval Division participated in the multinational military exercise Aegean Seal in Greece. In the exercise, the participants trained in underwater counter-mine operations in a “hostile” environment where explosive and improvised explosive devices are located. The exercise scenario envisaged operations in the port area and very shallow waters in which exercise participants were searching, identifying, marking and removing naval mines, explosive ordnance. In addition to the Slovenian Armed Forces, the exercise included teams of military clearance divers from Germany and Greece, as well as a German-Belgian team with the Remus 100 autonomous underwater vehicle to search for underwater mines. The United States, Canada, Norway, Bulgaria and North Macedonia participated as observers.
