Rock Tundra begins at Poček training area
Monday, 26 November, marked the beginning of exercise Rock Tundra organised by members of the 1st Brigade. During the exercise, Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF) members will collaborate with members of the 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team in performing shooting drills at the main SAF training range using different types of weapons.
The aim of the two-week training is to conduct mid-term testing as part of the preparations for a live-fire exercise of the infantry company planned for September 2019. During the first week, shooting drills with machine guns will be conducted as part of the machine gun team training. The second week of the exercise will include shooting with the Spike anti-tank missile system and mine explosive ordnance training.
In addition to members of the 10th Infantry Regiment, 132nd Mountain Regiment, and the Combat Support Battalion of the 1st Brigade, exercise participants also include members of the CIMIC team, Joint Training Centre, 72nd Brigade, 430th Naval Division and Logistics Brigade providing pyrotechnical, logistics and medical support.
