President of the Republic of Slovenia pays a visit to members of the 3rd SAF eFP Contingent in Latvia
On Thursday, 13 September, members of the 3rd Slovenian eFP Contingent in Latvia received a visit of the President of the Republic of Slovenia and Supreme Commander of Slovenian Armed Forces (SAF) Borut Pahor. In the Adaži military camp, the President was received with military honours given by the representatives of all the countries engaged in the multinational battle group in Latvia.
The President was later received by Chief of Staff of Latvian Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Igors Klavinš and commander of the multinational battle group in Latvia Lieutenant Colonel Steven Macbeth. The latter underlined the professionalism and high quality of Slovenian contribution to the work of the multinational battle group. After the official part of the visit, the President met and talked with members of the Slovenian military contingent. On this occasion, contingent commander Major Matjaž Žbogar acquainted the President with the contingent’s work and lessons learned. When signing the contingent’s visitors’ book, the President expressed his appreciation to SAF members for their dedicated and competent effort in the mission.
