At the meeting of defence ministers in Brussels in February 2015, it confirmed the enhancement of NATO response forces, renamed the enhanced NATO Response Force (eNRF), with a new structure and the establishment of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force, which will focus on shortening the standby time of certain units from 45 days to 5–7 days. In the period 2017–2019, the Slovenian Armed Forces will cooperate with the military police, medium transport helicopters, CIMIC group, command and control team, medical evacuation team, maintenance team and national support unit.
In addition to members from Albania, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and the United States, members of the Slovenian eNRF Contingent participating in the multinational military exercise Bright Armoured in Italy, will through tactical exercises be verified with regard to the level of interoperability of allied capabilities that has been achieved so far. For members of the Slovenian Armed Forces, such exercises contribute to the acquisition of valuable knowledge and new experiences as well as to the maintaining of their competence.
