The rifle of this calibre is a basic sniper rifle at a company level. With its new 8.6mm calibre it successfully fills the gap between 7.62mm light calibre weapons and 12.7mm heavy calibre weapons. It is a single-shot repeating weapon (bolt action). The barrel is free floating and inserted into an aluminum frame. The stock is folding and adjustable. It is fed by 10 round magazines. This rifle is characterized by an excellent proportion between little weight and high accuracy, and is intended to be used in the hardest conditions.
It is produced by a French manufacturer PGM Precision under the auspices of the Belgian group FN Herstal.
Weapons used by the Slovenian Armed Forces are fitted with an optical sighting mechanism produced by a German manufacturer Schmidt&Bender, and night fibre optics produced by a Norwegian manufacturer Simrad.
